Overview -------- X10 Commander is an X10 Controller Client for the iPhone/iPod/iPad/Android and is a native iPhone application that allows you to control up to 60 X10 devices anywhere in the world. Ever wanted to close the garage door while lying in your bed? How about turn the outdoor floodlights on but didn't feel like walking back downstairs to turn them on? Now you can! All you need is an X10 CM11, CM12, CM15, CM17 Firecracker, CM19, or Marmitek CM15Pro device connected to your computer and X10 Commander will allow you to control all your X10 devices. X10 Commander consists of two pieces...a server piece which runs on your PC or Mac and the client piece which runs on your iPhone or iPod Touch. The PC application is free and available from our Downloads section, the MacOSX support is provided by the excellent Thinking Home software from AlwaysThinking.com. The purpose of this program is simple: to allow control of your X10 devices from your iPhone/iPod/iPad/Android with the touch of a finger. 2. Installation ------------ WINDOWS PC SERVER: -> Simply copy the X10Commander.exe somewhere on your PC where you have your X10 module and run -> If you own a CM15/CM19 USB device or Marmitek CM15Pro you need to install the ActiveHome SDK: http://www.x10.com/activehomepro/sdk/index.html MACOSX SERVER: -> Simply purchase and install Thinking Home software from AlwaysThinking.com CLIENT: -> iPhone/iPad/iPod: Simply download the X10 Commander app from the Itunes Apple AppStore -> Android: Simply download the X10 Commander app from the Android Market 4. Quick Start Guide ------------ SERVER: * Start X10Commander.exe on the PC or ThinkingHome on the Mac * The main screen will display the PC IP Address which you will need for the client setup. If you are using Vista it is the IPV4 Address you need like 192.168.1.101 CLIENT: * Go to the iPhone/iPod/iPad/Android Settings application * Find the section for X10 Commander and navigate to it * Enter the IP Address found in the steps for the Server * You won't need to change the port unless you received an error on the Server so leave it at 6003 * Start the X10 Commander iPhone application. It will find and connect to X10 Commander running on your PC! TROUBLESHOOTING PC SERVER: * If you get an error that your Port is already in Use you can change it in the EXE * If you cannot connect to X10 Commander PC Server and you know you have your IP and Port correct make sure you do not have Port 6003 blocked. Make sure you don't have any Firewall software blocking ports too. * If you want to start the application minimized to the tray edit the registry setting value to 1 from 0 for HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Melloware\X10Commander\MinimizeOnStartup 5.
