Installation 4. Quick Start Guide 5. Acknowledgements 6. Feedback 1. Overview -------- I know Apple has Remote for ITunes but i wanted something similar for controlling J. River Media center from my iPhone. I wanted to be able to Play Pause, Stop, etc as well as browse my playlist and select a new song. Great for parties or for DJ's who want their PC's hidden from their partygoers but still want complete control over the music playing! RiverMote consists of two pieces...a server piece which runs on your PC and the client piece which runs on your iPhone or iPod Touch. The server piece included here is called RiverMote.exe and is critical to using RiverMote on the iPhone. 2. Features -------- -> Control of J. River Media Center from anywhere in your house. -> Keep pesky partygoers from changing songs on you during a party by locking away your pc -> DJ's don't have to be saddled to the DJ booth can change songs from anywhere at the party/wedding/event -> Your already using J. River Media Center, so why not get some use out of your iPhone/iPod Touch! 3. Installation ------------ SERVER: -> Simply copy the RiverMote.exe somewhere on your PC where you run J. River MC 12 or 13 CLIENT: -> Simply download the RiverMote app from the Apple AppStore 4. Quick Start Guide ------------ SERVER: * Start RiverMote.exe on the PC (if you have J. River open already it will ask you to close it) * Open a Command Prompt and type "ipconfig". This will display the PC IP Address which you will need for the client setup. If you are using Vista it is the IPV4 Address you need like 192.168.1.101 CLIENT: * Go to the iPhone/iPod Touch Settings application * Find the section for RiverMote and navigate to it * Enter the IP Address found in the steps for the Server * You won't need to change the port unless you received an error on the Server so leave it at 6002 * Start the RiverMote iPhone application. It will find and connect to J. River MC running on your PC! TROUBLESHOOTING: * If you get an error that your Port is already in Use you can change it in the Registry located in this location: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Melloware\RiverMote\TcpPort * If you cannot connect to RiverMote PC Server and you know you have your IP and Port correct make sure you do not have Port 6001 blocked. Make sure you don't have any Firewall software blocking ports too like Windows Defender or Norton. * If you want higher quality image covers on the phone and don't mind a longer delay between refreshes then you can change the HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Melloware\RiverMote\CompressionEnabled value from 1 to 0. This will disable compression and give you the entire JPG image no matter how big. Be careful! * If you want more than 100 Smartlists edit registry key HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Melloware\RiverMote\SmartlistCountMax * If you want more than 500 Now playing songs edit the registry key HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Melloware\RiverMote\PlaylistCountMax 5.
